Angolan company seeks partnerships in Qatar and Saudi Arabia

Africa-Press – Angola. The company Indumad – Indústria e Comércio, based in the Angolan province of Bengo, maintained, on the sidelines of the 9th edition of the “Made in Qatar” fair, contacts with the Qatari firm “International Carpentry WLL”, with a view to a commercial exchange.

Based in the Panguila district, Indumad is a company specialized in the exploration, transformation and commercialization of wood and wood products, with a focus on exports, and “International Carpentry” is the best industrial carpentry in Qatar.

The executive director of the company Indumad, Jean Flouhr, considered his mission to Doha “very productive”, as he also had meetings with his contact in Saudi Arabia about a possible supply of wood for the NEOM project, to build the city of the future .

NEOM, an acronym for “New Future”, is the name of a new city and economic-technological area that Saudi Arabia is promoting in the northwest of the country, in the Sinai Peninsula, which, in addition to seeking alternatives to oil, aims to rival with urban innovations in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha.

“The potential of these two companies is enormous. It represents for annual sales between 100 and 150 wooden containers for the Qatari company and for the NEOM project in Saudi Arabia around 1,000 containers, for which we received a request for supply (of wood)”, said the director.

He stated that he became aware that Qatar purchases tropical African wood from Germany, a supply circuit that he considered meaningless, in the year 2023, noting that the case of Saudi Arabia is the same, which is why they requested direct supply from Indumad, for already a few months, to avoid intermediaries.

“We obtained good results, and we returned to Luanda with plans to increase our exploration and production capacity tenfold (10 times more), within a short period of time, so as not to lose these unique opportunities”, highlighted Jean Flouhr, who considered the fair “Made in Qatar” “very interesting”, where he found that many countries are interested in having trade relations with the Qataris.

On the other hand, Jean Flouhr, who, with other national and foreign businesspeople established in Angola, was part of the delegation from the country’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIA), praised the organization of the Angolan pavilion at Expo 2023, especially with regard to description of the panels and explanations given to visitors.

The 9th edition of the “Made in Qatar” exhibition took place from November 29th to December 2nd, co-organized by the Qatar Chamber and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry

Expo 2023 opened on October 2nd of this year and closes on March 28th, 2024.
