Africa-Press – Angola. A cultural and tourist attraction project called “Semba In the Word”, on Wednesday in Luanda was presented with the aim of promoting Angolan culture with a focus on the Semba musical and dance style.
On the occasion, the coordinator of the project, Hélio Aração, said that the initiative aims to promote Semba-style, as well as a symbol of national identity and also a factor of tourist attraction.
The official informed that this project aims to strengthen the strategic partnership to implement the “Cultural Tourist Card”.
In this regard, during the event a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Culture and the company HG Marketing and Advertising
Semba is a fundamental part of the cultural life of Angolans and a vehicle for social transformation.
It was elevated to the National Intangible Heritage of Angola on April 18, 2023.
Angola is preparing a detailed case study to present to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), in order to elevate Semba to the Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
The project “Semba In The Word”, is a cultural movement for the value, expansion and dissemination of Angolan culture, connecting music, art and dance to the world.
