Angolan Delegation to CPLP Games Travels on Tuesday

Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan delegation to the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) games, held from July 17 to 27 in Dili, East Timor, leaves the country on Tuesday.

The delegation comprising one hundred (100) members, including 52 athletes and 20 officers, is expected to arrive on Thursday.

For this operation, Angola, which aims to maintain its 3rd-place gained in 2018, in São Tomé and Príncipe, will participate in athletics, adapted athletics, men’s and women’s 3×3 basketball, karate, tennis, taekwondo, chess, and beach volleyball.

The CPLP games involve Under-16 participants from Angola, Portugal, Brazil, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe, Cabo Verde, and host country East Timor.

The games, which began in 1992 in Portugal, aim to contribute to the promotion of sport and culture, as well as strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation between member countries.
