Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (MOFA) recently distinguished the Angolan diplomatic representation in this Persian Gulf country with the “Excellence” award.
The award for the “Excellent Embassy in the UAE” category was presented on September 5 by the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to the Diplomatic Mission Advisor, Francisco Kaluvi, on behalf of Ambassador Júlio Maiato.
The Angolan embassy in Abu Dhabi (UAE) received the prestigious award at the 4th edition of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ “Excellence” Awards Ceremony.
The Award is awarded within the scope of the Government Excellence Program, to allow the UAE public sector to stand out for its systems, performance, services and results, having been created in 1999, by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, then President of the Emirates United Arab Emirates, and by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister.
The “Government Excellence Program” seeks to strengthen the role of the federal government and improve its performance in order to achieve the UAE’s objectives.
The launch of the “Performance Excellence System” and other continuous development initiatives aim to develop a culture of innovation, loyalty and excellence among all public servants, providing an investment-friendly environment in support of the country’s sustainable development and prosperity.
The Prize in question was also awarded to the Diplomatic Missions of Saudi Arabia, Chile, Dominica, Egypt, the United States, Iraq, Mozambique and the United Kingdom.
Among the categories of the Excellence Award, the following stand out: “Institutional Excellence”, “Excellent Department in the Institutional and Services Sector”, “Excellent Department in the Political and Specialized Sector”, “Best Department in the Area of Training”, “Environment of Happier Work”, “Excellent Section in the Institutional and Services Sector”, as well as “Excellent Section in the Political and Specialized Sector”.
The distinction also includes the categories of “Super Embassy”, “Excellent Embassy” and “Excellent Consulate in the UAE”, as well as the Career category, where the highlight is “Excellent Diplomat” and the “Excellent Cooperation” Award. awarded to Diplomatic Missions accredited in the UAE that distinguished themselves through their efforts to strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
