Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan film “Nação Valente”, by director Carlos da Conceição, produced in 2022, will premiere, this Saturday, 15th, in one of the Cinemax theaters in Lubango, Huíla province.

The feature film is a drama that portrays episodes of the colonial war and “reveals the horrors” that the nationalists went through, according to the film’s producer, Meirinho Mendes, in Lubango on Tuesday.

The author of the Makamba-hotel mini-series also stated that the film, lasting 120 minutes, also highlights Angola’s role in achieving National Independence, becoming brave after going through 500 years of slavery.

He said that the film was recorded in 2022, in Portugal and Angola (Huíla and Namibe), and, in addition to Portuguese, has a version translated into English, having already been shown in Europe and America.

It was shown for one month and two weeks in Portugal and two months in the United States of America (USA), according to the producer.

He stressed that the screening of the film in Huíla aims to increasingly value Angolan cinema and encourage new talents.
