Africa-Press – Angola. Angolan National Assembly members on Thursday approved the Statute of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) bill in a final global vote.
The bill passed with 106 votes in favor, 77 against and two (2) abstentions, during the 6th Ordinary Plenary Meeting of the IV Legislative Session of the V Legislature, chaired by the Parliament leader, Adão de Almeida.
Composed of nine chapters, the bill aims to adjust the legal framework that governs the activity of non-governmental organizations to the principles enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic of Angola, as well as other international instruments to which Angola is a party.
