Africa-Press – Angola. Eight hundred kilograms of products with expired expiry dates were seized and removed, in recent days, from markets in the municipality of Caála, Huambo province, by the National Authority for Economic Inspection and Food Safety (ANIESA).
These are corn flour, juices, fizzy drinks, preserves and medicines, biscuits and cosmetics, which were being sold in some shops in central Fernando Faustino Muteka and in the informal market in the commune of Calenga.
Wednesday, the coordinator of ANIESA in the municipality of Caála, Albano Urbano, said that the seized products will soon be incinerated to prevent them from being sold again.
He informed that ANIESA will continue to inspect commercial establishments and the main informal markets, with a view to ensuring the well-being of consumers and, at the same time, preventing adulteration of the dates of products with expired deadlines.
In April of the current year, ANIESA had withdrawn from the market, seized and incinerated 200 kilograms of beef in an advanced state of deterioration.
