Africa-Press – Angola. At least two hundred athletes, of both sexes, will participate in the first international swimming tournament in Luanda, to be held from the 27th to the 29th of this month, at the Alvalade swimming pool.
This Friday, the technical director of the sport’s association, Osvaldo Morais, said that the competition will feature national teams, one Portuguese and the other Mozambican.
Among the national competitors, he highlighted 1.o de Agosto, Interclube, Clube Náutico da Ilha, Clube Naval, Wonder Sport Club and Clube de Natação de Luanda.
The aim of this event is to publicize the modality in the country’s capital in order to attract new practitioners, from the perspective of massification and development.
The association anticipates the participation of between 200 and 250 national and foreign athletes.
The tournament will be disputed by categories, with 44 events in male and female, with medals and trophies being awarded to the first three classified in each category.
