Africa-Press – Angola. A group of six national citizens were detained by the Angolan Border Police (PGFA), last weekend, in the northern province of Zaire, for assisting illegal immigration.

The accused attempted to facilitate the illegal entry of 9 citizens from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) into the national territory, through the land border of the municipality of Luvo.

These are 6 nationals who attempted to facilitate the illegal entry of 9 elements from that neighbouring country with the intention of reaching Angola’s capital, Luanda.

Speaking to the press, on Monday, Feb 10, the National Police spokesperson for the provincial command, superintendent Luís Bernardo, explained that the group of immigrants included 6 minors aged between 1 and 11.

According to the source, the arrests took place in the forests of the municipality of Luvo, a result of a micro-operation carried out by the PGFA in coordination with the Criminal Offenses Investigation Department (DIIP).

He also highlighted the involvement of a motorcycle taxi driver, who tried to cross the police barrier in the town of Lolo, municipality of Luvo, with a foreigner disguised as a passenger.
