Africa-Press – Angola. 1o de Agosto did justice to its title of women’s under-16 basketball national champion, applying Sunday, the first 100 plate of the 33rd edition of the competition, which takes place in the multipurpose pavilion Osvaldo Serra Van-Dúnem, in the city from Huambo.
The “military” defeated, in a “resounding” way, the Estrelinha da Graça de Viana team, by an expressive 105-26.
During the match, the “Agostinianas”, another designation of the national champions, who displayed on the court, all their basketball players in front of an opponent who did little or nothing to avoid the plate 100, due to their inexperience, won at halftime, due to 42-19.
With this result, which allows the champion to provisionally take the lead in the competition, with six points, the four teams that will compete in the semi-finals are complete, leaving Viana’s formation, the fifth and last position.
In the first match of the day, in which the Escorpiões da Boa Fé rested, the Ferroviário de Angola team beat Desportivo do Kilamba, by 49-40, and both confirmed their presence for the other phase, as they benefited from the second duel.
The fourth round of the 35th National Men’s Under-16 Basketball Championship was marked by the qualification to the semi-finals of Desportivo 4 de Junho and also completes the list of the four qualified teams.
The team’s victory affects the Rapid Intervention Police (PIR), which won, in a sweaty way, in the last minutes, the Núcleo da Centralidade da Caála, by 54-45, in the very electrifying game and considered of the day, leaves this last formation with no chance of qualifying, as well as JGM, titleholders of Huambo province, who lost to Petro Local, 53-67.
The two defeated teams will face each other for the classification of 5th and 6th place.
In the other game, which opened the round, Petro de Luanda maintained its invincibility, by defeating Ferroviário de Angola, by 68-41.
The two championships record, on Monday (14/08), a general break that will give rise to a training action aimed at coaches and technicians, with a view to updating their knowledge, and resume the following day (Tuesday), to the dispute of the 5th and final round.
The last round, which will determine, above all, the confrontations of the semi-finals of the two competitions, reserves the following games:
