Africa-Press – Angola. The credit portfolio of Banco de Fomento Angola (BFA) grew by more than 200 billion kwanzas in 2024, with an emphasis on financing for companies in various segments of economic activity.
The information was disclosed by the Chairman of BFA’s Executive Committee, Luis Gonçalves, at a networking event with the business community of Benguela province, following the 14th edition of the Benguela International Fair (FIB) taking place with the participation of 395 companies.
Luis Gonçalves associated the expansion of the loan portfolio, especially last year, with BFA’s commitment to fostering growth in the Angolan economy.
‘We’re talking about more than two hundred million dollars in loans granted last year alone,’ he noted, going on to point out that this figure has grown at a very fast pace in recent years.
‘There’s still a lot of work ahead, but we’re very confident that the bank will be able to keep up with the pace of customer needs and the evolution that the banking and financial system in Angola requires,’ he concluded.
