Africa-Press – Angola. The province of Bié, central Angola, has eight guarantees judges, who started exercising their functions since Tuesday (2nd) in the districts of Cuito and Andulo, as well as in the General Competence Rooms of Chinguar and Camacupa.
The information was provided, by the presiding judge of the District Court of Cuito, Nganga Liberdade Pilartes da Silva.
The official stressed that the entry of these judges is a milestone, taking into account the consolidation of the fundamental rights and guarantees of citizens provided for in the Constitution and other laws.
Nganga Liberdade Pilartes da Silva noted that the guarantees judge now decrees measures restricting freedom in the procedural instruction phase, previously exercised by the prosecutor.
The province of Bié has 12 judges, distributed in the Districts of Cuito, Andulo and in the Chambers with General Competences of Chinguar, Camacupa.
In Chitembo, the placement of a magistrate is expected to exercise the role of “itinerant” judge.
The province of Bié has approximately two million inhabitants, distributed in the municipalities of Cuito (capital), Andulo, Nharea, Chinguar, Chitembo, Camacupa, Catabola, Cuemba and Cunhinga.
