Africa-Press – Angola. Fishermen from the villages of Chiazi, Caio Litoral and Buco-Mazi, Cabinda municipality, benefited this Friday from four artisanal fishing vessels, as part of the social responsibility program of the company Caio Porto, linked to the construction of the Port Terminal of the Port of Cabinda.
The donation aims, according to the company Caio Porto, to help increase the capture of fish, create jobs and, consequently, improve the quality of life of members of cooperatives and fishing communities.
The act of delivery was witnessed by the governor of the province, Mara Quiosa, and by representatives of the three fishing communities of Caio Litoral, Buco Mazi and Chiazi.
The beneficiary cooperatives belong to the mayors and chiefs of the aforementioned communities.
On the occasion, Mara Quiosa, asked the beneficiaries to take care of the vessels and avoid the development of fishing activity within the area of execution of works in progress in that future port terminal and in the vicinity of the oil platforms.
He also advised to avoid the practice of illegal fishing in territorial waters of neighboring countries, relying on the available guide tools such as the compass to carry out, only, the activity in national waters.
The beneficiaries, who also received fishing gear (nets, hooks, buoys and lines), pledged to comply with the rules established by the captaincy of the Port of Cabinda, regarding the limits of the miles that aim to distance themselves from the platforms and also from the territorial waters of other countries.
