Africa-Press – Angola. One hundred and 45 professionals qualified to carry out various activities in the mining industry were launched on the market, in two years, by the Professional Technical Training Center (CEFOP), informed the director general of the institution, Leão Chimim.
CEFOP is located in the Diamond Development Pole, in Lunda Sul.
On Saturday, in Saurimo, and as part of the celebrations marking the center’s two years of existence, the director general of the institution, Leão Chimim, said that the professionals were trained in topography, cartography, electromechanics, geological prospecting and mining treatment.
He explained that, by the end of the current year, the institution expects to reach the figure of 250 graduates.
Leão Chimim added that one of CEFOP’s priorities is to invest in the training of human resources, which is why it also intends to diversify the training offer with courses such as hospitality and tourism, agriculture and livestock.
The first training cycle at the Professional Technical Training Center (CEFOP) began in March 2022, with an initial universe of 80 students, 25 of whom are from Catoca, and 55 from the community.
The center has 32 qualified trainers, three of whom are doing internships in the Federative Republic of Brazil.
