Chevron Invests USD 250 Million in Social Projects in Angola

Africa-Press – Angola. Chevron has invested a total of 250 million U.S. dollars in social projects in Angola in recent years as part of its corporate social responsibility.

Speaking at the reopening ceremony of the Cabinda Maternity Hospital, Bernardo Domingos, the company’s director of operations, said that Chevron’s activities in Angola are limited to projects related to education, health, energy, the environment, and human development.

Domingos added that, in recent decades, Chevron has financed infrastructure projects in Angola and helped establish a supply chain that has contributed to the growth of the national oil industry and the economy.

Domingos highlighted Chevron’s contributions to initiatives combating HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases nationwide. He noted that the company is proud to have funded the government’s initiatives to combat sickle cell anemia and prevent the vertical transmission of AIDS from mother to child.

Domingos reaffirmed Chevron’s commitment to funding social impact initiatives in Angola to improve quality of life for the population.

He said the company recently donated hospital supplies and two ambulances to health units in the Cabinda and Cacongo municipalities, and provided emergency services training to health professionals in the area.

Chevron and its Block-0 partners financed the renovation, expansion, and equipment work at the Cabinda Maternity Hospital.
