Africa-Press – Angola. The proposed law that approves the Labor Procedure Code continues to be appreciated and discussed by the deputies of the Specialty Committees of the National Assembly (AN).
Altogether, there are more than two hundred articles that are being analyzed and discussed by the deputies of the 1st, 5th and 10th Commissions. Given the dynamics of the work, the diploma, on the initiative of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, could be completed this Friday.
The legal instrument, which enters its fourth day of discussion today, intends to create a correct connection with the General Labor Law (LGT).
Yesterday, the Commissioners’ deputies started work with the amendments, suggestions and contributions of the articles inherent to Title II of Chapter I (Species and Forms of Process), addressed the previous day and which were not concluded due to doubts in some points. .
On the occasion, the representatives of the people assigned to the commissions, due to the matter, did not grant the right to vote for the referred chapter, having, in this case, been voted only on this Wednesday, the day in which the amendments introduced in the chapter II (Guarantees of Rights Emerging from the Legal-Employment Relationship, debated from article 52º (Conciliation) to article 91º (Deadline for Filing, Mode of Ascension, Effects, Inspection by the Public Prosecutor’s Office and Judgment of the Appeal).
The chapter deserved, in the end, votes in favor of the deputies. However, there was no opinion against and no abstention from the contributions given by the representatives of the Commissions.
Also on the same day, chapter III on the Executive Process was also analysed, discussed and appreciated from article 92 to article 102.
Deputy Lizeth Gonga, from the 5th Commission, which deals with matters of Economy and Finance, spoke of article 52 on conciliation, explaining that it is based on the harmonization of a possible labor dispute between the employee and the employer.
For Lizeth Gonga, it is yet another product that will bridge gaps in the domain of the peculiar solution between the company and the employee in question.
Regarding the proposed law that approves the Labor Procedure Code, the MPLA MP also said that the diploma makes a “perfect marriage” with the General Labor Law, which was recently approved in general in plenary.
The new General Labor Law, he added, brought with it several novelties, such as the issue of paternity leave, telecommuting and the extended period for maternity leave.
Finally, he made it known that the contributions were positive, in that the interests of workers were defended more, as they were the weakest part.
UNITA deputy Manuel Domingos da Fonseca said that the Labor Procedure Code does not materially regulate anything. However, he stated that he outlines the path for the implementation of the LGT.
It means that, stressed the representative of the 1st commission, it will only be possible to apply the LGT through this instrument, which is the Labor Procedure Code, which is being discussed by the other deputies of the political parties with seats in the National Assembly.
