Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, said this Friday, in Luanda, that he can count on everyone’s work, engagement and cooperation to bring Angola to a successful conclusion.
“I thank you for accepting our invitation so that together, gathered here in the garden of the Presidential Palace, we can say goodbye to the year 2023, which without a shadow of a doubt was a year of great challenges, not only for Angola, but for the world”, stated the Head of state.
João Lourenço was speaking at the traditional end-of-year greetings to the President of the Republic and the First Lady of the Republic, a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Cidade Alta.
According to the statesman, for the year 2024, apart from those considerable situations that do not depend on man, everything else depends on human action.
Therefore, he hopes that 2024 will be better than the present, promoting peace, happiness and health for all Angolan citizens.
Regarding those present at the event, he said that “they were encouraging to welcome the year ahead, 2024, with optimism for better days”.
The ceremony was animated by the band Duya, the musician Texas, among others.
