Africa-Press – Angola. The coroner at the Criminal Investigation Service in Benguela, Maria Almeida, confirmed this Sunday the expertise carried out on the corpse of a young woman sexually abused at the Catumbela cemetery, Benguela province.
The body of the 23-year-old girl was exhumed last Thursday by unknown persons.
Speaking to the press, Maria Almeida informed that she was the victim of a car accident on the 8th of August, having been treated at the General Hospital of Benguela, where she remained in intensive care for two days.
He died on the 14th of August and his funeral was held on the 16th, Wednesday, and the following day was when the case of necrophilia occurred.
“We did the expert examination and found that the young woman suffered injuries caused by the car accident in the cranial and dorsal region and we found her cut underwear, as well as genetic material, in this case spermatozoa in the vaginal canal, following the sexual assault”, he explained. .
As an immediate action, pieces of underwear containing droplets of blood were collected, to be sent to the Criminalistics Laboratory in Luanda, to determine their belonging and reach the aggressor.
Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Provincial Command of the National Police, superintendent Ernesto Tchiwale, said that, in addition to this specialized service, the corporation is taking steps to locate, identify and detain the offender.
Ernesto Tchiwale also said that, on the same day, the PN identified, through a complaint, another case of exhumation of a corpse in the same cemetery.
“It is the body of a former player of Académica do Lobito, whose tomb was desecrated, with the delinquents taking a ball, a trophy and a pair of gloves”, he revealed.
The PN appeals to society to denounce these crimes to inhibit this type of behavior, which also violates the habits and customs of Angolans.
On his turn, the Secretary of Administration of Catumbela, João Luís, stated that the institution will bring together the Municipal Council of Auscultação, the traditional and religious authorities, as well as young people, to carry out an analytical analysis of the situation and find the necessary measures to put an end to this type of situation that “is tarnishing the name of Catumbela and even the country”.
Asked about security at the cemetery, he said that there is no effective body to carry out this work.
“During the day we have our collaborators who work in the cemetery itself and at night, from time to time, the National Police go on patrol”, he clarified.
The municipal cemetery of Catumbela was built in 1889.
