Africa-Press – Angola. Six hundred and 51 criminal cases were filed at the District Court of Cuanhama, Cunene province, during the first half of this year, an increase of 107 compared to the same period of 2022.

The information was provided this Thursday by the presiding judge of the District Court of Cuanhama, Afonso Pinto, noting that 359 of the cases in question had been judged.

He highlighted the processes related to the complaint (139), transgressions (89), summary crimes (54), supervision of applied coercive measures (32), Habeas Corpus (24), parole (8) and correctional police (1), all of the criminal jurisdiction.

As for the family forum, he pointed out the registration of 209 cases, 85 of which were related to the regularization of the exercise of parental authority, 81 of judicial establishment of affiliation, 25 of de facto union action due to death, nine of maintenance, eight of guardianship and one of rupture.

There are also 71 of civil and administrative jurisdiction, with emphasis on mandatory inventories with 33 cases, 13 of optional inventories, 11 convictions in ordinary ordinary proceedings, seven of precautionary measures, among others.

With regard to the juvenile court, 19 criminal prevention cases were notified, as well as five from the work area.

In the same period, 1,822 special cases were considered by the court, of which 226 were judged, 126 others and 1,467 were ongoing.

The judge justified the registration of few cases related to work, which does not reflect the veracity of cases that occurred, emphasizing that it was due to lack of legal awareness and fear of retaliation.

In this regard, he appealed to employees to go to court in case of conflicts between the employer and workers in the sense of disagreements, resorting to the courts for a solution.

With only six judges, currently the District Court of Cuanhama, it has under its control 3,149 cases, of which 2,498 were carried over from the previous year.
