In a statement this Wednesday, after the athletes arrived at Xangongo, the president of the Ombadja Municipal Fighting Association, Nicolau Makango, said that the medals were won by eight athletes in the three categories.
He informed that with this participation, Cunene places three athletes in the national pre-selection that will participate in one of the international competitions, in 2024, namely Venâncio Manuel, João Joaquim and Vitorino Francisco, in 48, 63 and 70 kg.
Nicolau Makango highlighted that they will continue to work on preparing the athletes, so that they are ready, so that when they are part of the pre-selection they can dignify and elevate Angola’s name in the international arena.
In his first participation in 2022, Cunene competed with four athletes, without however winning any medals.
