Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan ambassador to Brazil, Florêncio de Almeida, was decorated, Tuesday, in Brasília, with the Grade “Grand-Cruz”, the highest distinction of the Order and Merit of the Brazilian Military Public Prosecutor’s Office.

A note from the Angolan Embassy in Brasília sent to Jornal de Angola refers that the ceremony of awarding the commendations, presided over by the Attorney General of the Military Justice of Brazil, António Duarte, marked the highest point of the celebrations of the 102 years of existence of the institution, marked on the 30th of October.

During the act, high-ranking entities in Brazilian political life and the Israeli ambassador in Brazil were also honored with this award. Among those distinguished, there is also the Angolan deputy José Semedo, decorated with the “Grande Oficial” medal.

During the event, the Military Public Ministry presented the most recent issue of its institutional magazine, an “observatory magazine on corruption”, as well as a memoir.

When speaking, António Duarte highlighted the importance of the act, stating that the jurisdictional function is essential to guarantee law and order in the Armed Forces of his country.

The Order of Merit of the Military Public Ministry of Brazil is a decoration that aims to reward Brazilian and foreign citizens who have provided relevant services in the performance of their duties or who have become creditors of the appreciation and recognition of this institution of Military Justice.
