Delayed PIIM works worry Icolo e Bengo administration

Africa-Press – Angola. The delay in completing some works of the Integrated Intervention Plan in the Municipalities “PIIM”, in Icolo and Bengo, is worrying the local administrator, who wants to inaugurate them as soon as possible.

Data from the Administration of Icolo and Bengo indicate that the municipality has a total of 13 social impact works, registered in the PIIM, including schools and health centers, with a global value of kz 3,757,299,915.93, with five completed and inaugurated .

The works are underway in the urban districts of Bela Vista, Catete and the municipalities of Cassoneca and Cabiri.

The concern about the delay was expressed by the municipal administrator, Isabel Nicolau dos Santos, this Monday, during a meeting she held with those responsible for the companies in charge of construction.

In relation to this problem, during a visit to these works, last February, the secretary of state of the Ministry of the Interior and member of the Interministerial Commission for Monitoring and Inspection of the PIIM works, Carlos Alberto Albino, guaranteed the completion of the works by the end of last semester, after the difficulties experienced at the time were overcome.

“The technical and financial constraints encountered in the execution of the PIIM works, in Icolo and Bengo, have been overcome and the works will be completed by the end of this semester”, the Secretary of State told, in February of this year.

However, some works were expected to be completed in 2021, but so far they remain ongoing.
