Africa-Press – Angola. Greater interaction between the Angolan community and the authorities, in order to find solutions to the problems that affect Angolans in South Africa was what the Angolan ambassador to this country, Rui Orlando Xavier, defended this Friday .

Rui Orlando Xavier defended this position during a consultation meeting with representatives of the Angolan community in the South African province of Gauteng, where the cities of Pretoria and Johannesburg are located.

In his intervention, ambassador Rui Xavier urged members of the community to observe the laws of the host country, in this case South Africa, as well as to register them with the diplomatic representation to acquire the documentation that gives them the Angolan nationality.

In turn, community leaders, representing student, religious and business associations, thanked the ambassador for his availability and promised to collaborate to maintain the good image that Angola has in South Africa.

Likewise, they requested support from the Embassy to intercede with the South African authorities, in order to regularize the migratory situation, at the same time that they committed to collaborating in resolving the main problems that plague our fellow citizens.

Ambassador Rui Xavier arrived in South Africa on the 24th of July this year and has been involved in presentation meetings, having already visited his counterparts in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Eritrea, Namibia, Portugal, Mozambique, Liberia and Madagascar.
