Africa-Press – Angola. Angola’s ambassador to Spain, Balbina da Silva, met with Angolan businesspeople and entrepreneurs in Madrid on Friday to consult with members of the Angolan business platform in Spain and analyze proposed strategies to strengthen the country’s image abroad.
A press release from the Angolan embassy in Spain, states that during the meeting, Balbina da Silva highlighted the need to diversify the Angolan economy, attract private investment, support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, and reduce dependence on the oil sector.
She emphasized the importance of involving all Angolan citizens, both within and outside the country’s borders, in achieving the desired goals.
“The Angolan diaspora in Spain is a strategic partner for Angola’s development, as they understand the nuances and challenges of the Spanish market, while simultaneously allowing the roots and values of the ‘Dreams of Angola’ to be maintained,” she emphasized.
He stated that the Angolan state needs economic ambassadors, voices in Spain who speak with knowledge and passion about the country’s potential.
In turn, representatives of the Angolan Business Network in Spain highlighted as objectives greater integration with the Angolan diplomatic mission in that country and institutional support for the challenges faced in exporting products from Spain to Angola, reducing customs tariffs, and supporting access to credit lines.
The meeting reinforced the embassy’s commitment to strengthening ties and advancing initiatives that benefit the community and the country, fostering an environment of cooperation and sustainable development.
