Africa-Press – Angola. The musicians Dom Caetano and Raúl Negro were the headliners of the 15th edition of Caldo da Tradição, which took place on Saturday, in the municipality of Calandula, in reference to the 94th anniversary of the district, celebrated on the same day.
Held for the first time outside the city of Malanje, the event, promoted by Pedro Vaz and Mbrom Mbrom and Company in partnership with the Municipal Administration of Calandula, brought together 300 people from various parts of the province of Malanje and beyond.
The first part of the broth was animated by Banda Suavidade (who technically took over the event), interpreting Kizomba and Semba Nacional classics.
Then, Raúl Negro took over the “redias” and enchanted the guests, who joined in a circle to vibrate to the rhythm of themes such as África, Madrugada (Gia), Mutete Telo, Ya Ngongo, Kikola and Kamassa.
The first part was closed by the artist Jinguenga, the silver of the house, who, with his folkloric style, warmed up the night again with three songs from his repertoire: Tala Yandi Kissola Kuamuana, Corona Ya Vutuca, Lumbi Luamuxima and Luaiba.
With the aplomb that is characteristic of him, Dom Caetano “assaulted” the stage for what was the most anticipated moment of the activity, to the delight of those present.
The musician played Vizinho, Diala Ya Ngó, Sou Angolano, Kixikila, Dilema, Wejia Kia Ussokana and A Nova Cooperacao.
The Caldo da Tradição culminated in the cutting of the cake celebrating the district’s 94th anniversary, with the municipal administrator of Calandula, Mateus Vunge, requesting the involvement of citizens in favor of the development of the region in differeThe young Eldegado Catraio, 19 years old, from the municipality of Cuanhama, was elected Mister Cunene 2023, during the 5th edition of the gala, held Saturday, in the city of Ondjiva.
At the event, which had 12 competitors, Henriques Isiwanga and Marcelino Mande were elected for the second and third places.
Henriques Isiwanga also had the privilege of being distinguished as Mr Popular.
The mister took the prize of 150,000 kwanzas, a scholarship at the University of Belas, a course for a driving license, while the two received 100 and 80,000 kwanzas, respectively.
Speaking to the press, the mister said that during his mandate he will develop the program to prevent and combat early pregnancy, as well as raise the youth’s knowledge about preventive measures against sexually transmitted diseases.
Eldegado Catraio promised to work harder to represent the province with dignity at Mister Angola 2023, taking place in October, in Luanda.
For its part, the Cunene provincial Culture, Tourism and Youth and Sports Office, Nelson Ndemulikwata, congratulated the elected coach, having promised support for the Mister Angola competition.
Former Duke of Bragança, the municipality of Calandula was elevated to the status of village on September 2, 1929.
Covering 7,37 square kilometers and an estimated population of over 100,000, the district comprises the Sede, Cateco-cangola, Cota, Cuale and Quinje communes.
