Africa-Press – Angola. Twenty five young entrepreneurs from the municipality of Cuanhama, in Cunene, have been benefiting from training in cutting, sewing, decoration, cooking and hairdressing, manicure and pedicure since Monday.

The 10-day intensive training, taking place at the Ondjiva Training Center, is an initiative of the Municipal Administration of Cuanhama, within the scope of the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty.

These are young people from the communes of Ondjiva, Mongua, Oshimolo, Nehone and Evale, with five each, who during this period will acquire knowledge to practice their profession in the communities.

At the opening ceremony, the director of the Social Action Office of Cuanhama, Ermelinda Alfredo, said that, after training, the young women will receive work kits to promote self-employment in their areas.

He made it known that this initiative aims to align small businesses with actions that promote local economic development, technically and professionally training women entrepreneurs in the municipality.

Ermelinda Alfredo called on beneficiaries to embrace the opportunity to help boost economic growth and ensure an increase in average income and a reduction in hunger and poverty levels in families.
