Africa-Press – Angola. The Embassy of Angola in the Federal Republic of Nigeria sent, on Monday, a message of condolences to the Board of Directors of the Access Bank Group, on the death of Herbert Wigwe, chairman of the Executive Committee of that banking institution, following a tragic aviation accident , in California, in which his wife and son were also victims.
In the message that, signed by ambassador José Bamóquina Zau, the Embassy states that it was with “immense sadness and regret” that it learned of Herbert Wigwe’s physical passing.
In simplicity and humility, we read in the same note, Herbert Wigwe was intelligently developing a responsible expansion of Access Bank to several African countries, including Angola, where in December last year he had been received, in audience, by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
The statement ends with an encouraging hug of “solidarity and comfort to the family and the Board of Directors of the Access Bank Group”, on behalf of Ambassador José Bamóquina Zau, diplomats, employees of the Angolan Diplomatic Mission in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Benin and Niger and the Angolan community residing in that country.
“Let us beg the Lord, almighty, to comfort our hearts to overcome this anguish, due to the physical passing of Dr. Herbert Wigwe, his wife and son”, says the note.
