Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of the National Bank of Angola (BNA), Tiago Dias, considered yesterday, in Luanda, the importance of instant transfers of funds to promote the formalization of the economy and “pave” the path of access to microcredit.
Speaking at the 38th Edition of the Luanda International Fair (FILDA), after the launch of Angola’s new payment system “Kwik – Instant Kwanza”, he underlined that the referred transfers promote access to basic financial services.
The official said that the country currently has a low banking rate, “which means that a large part of the adult population is excluded from access to banking services”.
“We can say that Angola is doing relatively well when it comes to classic banking services, placing itself at the level of the best in Africa, the same cannot be said with regard to solutions aimed at the unbanked population, where the existing offers are still very limited”, said the manager.
He highlighted that the new payment system in Angola resulted from a joint assessment that was carried out within the scope of technical assistance from the World Bank, with a view to increasing the levels of financial inclusion in Angola.
The “Instant Kwik – Kwanza”, launched yesterday at FILDA by EMIS, allows you to send money and pay in an instant, at any time of the day and anywhere, as long as the customer has a Kwik payment account at any bank or mobile wallet.
Kwik appears to contribute and streamline the economy, increase financial inclusion and bring the country closer to the future.
The 38th edition of the Luanda International Fair (FILDA) will take place from the 18th to the 22nd of July, under the motto “Digital economy, the new world frontier”.
In this event, the big news is the participation of the business area of the Embassy of the United States of America, marking the debut of this country in the event.
The returns from Brazil, with the participation of the Association of Brazilian Entrepreneurs and the country’s Embassy in Angola, become the main novelties of the 38th edition of FILDA.
Portugal, Italy, Indonesia, Turkey, Germany, Japan, among others, are also part of the range of countries exhibiting at FILDA 2023.
