FILDA, which until 2024 (39th edition), was called Luanda International Fair, is now called Angola International Fair, due to the scope of the event and the new Political-Administrative Division of the country, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Rui Miguêns announced on Thursday in Luand.
According to the minister, despite this change in name, the acronym FILDA will remain.
At a press conference, the minister said that the 40th edition of Angola”s largest business exchange will take place from 22 to 27 July, in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Icolo and Bengo province.
On the occasion, Rui Miguêns considered FILDA as a consolidated brand over the 40 years, which has contributed to the establishment of partnerships between businessmen.
In turn, the chairman of the Board of Directors of the organizing company Arena Eventos, Bruno Albernaz, said that 1,182 companies were confirmed, representing 17 countries, hoping that this figure could increase in the coming days, surpassing the 1,707 companies of the previous edition.
These are large and small companies linked to commerce, industry, agriculture, service, among others.
Unlike previous editions, the Angola International Fair 2025 will have 93 percent participation from Angolan companies.
Among the novelties, Bruno Albernaz pointed out the creation of a hall of Angolan culture, where painting, poetry, literature, music, dance and other representative manifestations of the country 21 provinces will be exhibited, in addition to a pavilion dedicated to the automotive sector.
He assured that there will be affordable transport from the main areas of greater population concentration, with free admission for children up to 12 years old.
The deputy governor for the Political, Economic and Social sector of Icolo and Bengo, Agostinho António, who was also at the press conference, said that, as a host province and participant for the first time, they will take the opportunity to present the potential of the region, with a view to attracting investments.
The 40th edition of FILDA will take place under the motto “50 years, consolidating Angola”s economic independence and integration in the world”.
