Africa-Press – Angola. The action-thriller film titled “Where is God?” of the Portuguese-Angolan production, whose debut in cinemas was scheduled for August, will only be available in December, announced this Thursday, its director, António Guimarães.
He said that scheduling reasons were behind the postponement of the film’s exhibition, which already premiered on Netflix last August.
The film stars actor Tomás Ferreira and also features model Carina Cavalheda and playwright Nelson Nhanga.
It is produced by Cinelife, Tp films, crafts films and Rolos Angola.
António Guimarações said that the dimension that the film has taken is gratifying, as it has won over thousands of people and has become the most anticipated Portuguese-Angolan film by moviegoers this year.
He also added that the arrival of “Where is God?” in the Netflix catalog significantly changed the careers of these young independent film directors.
“Where is God? It is not a simple film of independent Luso-Angolan production, but it is a starting point for a paradigm shift in the entire perspective on the events that the world is facing in recent times”, he highlighted.
Synopsis
The feature film portrays a time when a sect intends to kill young women for satanic rituals, God intervenes through a young writer in the lapse of death and destroys the devil’s purpose over that small Christian town.
The film also features the participation of the leaders of the “HDA” group and more than 20 actors, including well-known and anonymous faces.
