FNLA in Uíge bets on revitalizing party structures

Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial secretariat of the National Liberation Front of Angola (FNLA) in Uíge reaffirmed Friday, its commitment to revitalizing the basic structures of political training, to face the new political challenges in the country.

That bet was expressed this Friday, in a press conference, by the second provincial secretary of the FNLA in Uíge, Afonso Canga, when he presented the half-yearly balance sheet of the activities carried out by the party.

The politician informed that, in the last six months, the party created a brigade called Special Brigade for the Rescue of the FNLA in Uíge (BERFU).

Composed of seven elements, the brigade has been carrying out, since January of this year, campaigns to raise awareness and rescue former militants who abandoned political training.

As a result of carrying out this campaign in 16 municipalities in Uíge province, he said that the number of FNLA militants in Uíge increased from 500 to 5,000.

On the other hand, Afonso Canga defended the need for a continuous process of modernization of mentalities, the deepening of the spirit of open dialogue within institutions and populations.

During the press conference, the official spoke about the strengthening of unity and national reconciliation, the implementation of municipalities, improvement of the social situation of former combatants, roads, and the health and education system.

The press conference, which took place in the Dunga neighbourhood, on the outskirts of the capital city, was attended by party officials and cadres.
