Of the four concluded, three already benefit the population and the other will be made available, shortly, to the citizens, the district administrator, Leopoldo dos Santos.
Among the projects that are already benefiting the population are two related to the acquisition of hospital facilities and cleaning and basic sanitation equipment, as well as one for earthworks on the road that connects the municipal seat to the commune of Aldeia Nova.
A total of 85 million, 845 thousand and 316 Kwanzas were invested in the purchase of hospital equipment and 262 million, 190 thousand, 473 Kwanzas were invested in the acquisition of waste collection means, aimed at improving basic sanitation in the district.
Rehabilitation of the 17-kilometre road cost close to 250 million kwanzas, which is facilitating the flow of products from the countryside, the mobility of inhabitants and their access to public goods.
According to Leopoldo dos Santos, the section is located in a potentially agricultural area and already facilitates the growth of the commune, taking into account the importance of the road in the development of any locality.
Another project already concluded and which will soon be available to the population is the construction of the morgue of the municipal hospital, with a capacity of six drawers, the execution of which was budgeted at 75 million, 988 thousand and 750 Kwanzas
The PIIM in Banga also contemplates the construction of two primary schools with seven classrooms each, one nearing completion and the other whose work has been paralyzed since January this year, due to the absence of the contractor, whose location is uncertain.
He referred that the municipality had registered in the PIIM, three projects for the construction of schools, two for the construction of two primary schools and one for the II cycle.
However, the latter, due to lack of financial resources, was not approved, which leaves the municipality without a secondary school.
Secondary school students in the district attend classes in the same school as those in the 1st cycle.
With a territorial extension of 1,259 square kilometres, the municipality of Banga comprises four communes – Banga (headquarters), Aldeia Nova, Caculo Cabaça and Cariamba, which are home to more than 12 thousand inhabitants.
