Africa-Press – Angola. Redeeming the title lost in the last two editions is the main objective of the Huambo 4 de Junho team in the National Senior Women’s Futsal Championship, which starts on Wednesday (13) in the province of Huíla.

The group, assigned to the Rapid Intervention Police Unit (UPIP), lost the 2021 and 2022 finals, against the Army formation, which revalidated the title in the last edition, played in the province of Namibe.

The intention was expressed the president of the Huambo Futsal Association, Manuel Alfredo, at the moment of farewell to the six representatives of this province in the Central Plateau of Angola in the unified competition.

These are 4 de Junho, Chapesseca, Desportivo Rui Mingas (women), 4 de Junho, Chapesseca and Misto do Huambo (men).

On the occasion, he said that the recovery of the championship title, by 4 de Junho, aims to maintain the hegemony of the team, as one of the most titled in the country, with four trophies, in addition to raising the name of the province to the highest level. of the modality.

Manuel Alfredo said he believes in the team’s ability to achieve the set objective, taking into account the competitive evolution it has shown in recent years.

Aware of the difficulties and without setting goals, the association leader also expects good participation from the men’s teams.

In turn, the director of the Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports office in Huambo, Jeremias da Piedade Chissanga, wished the six teams a good participation, in order to adequately represent the province.

The official reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to continue supporting the Futsal Association in its efforts to promote the sport’s massification and development.

Huambo with three referees in nationals

In terms of arbitration, the province of Huambo will be able to participate in both championships, men’s and women’s, with three judges.

These are referees Inácio Silva, Costa Safeca and Telma da Conceição, all of national category, recently appointed by the Arbitration Council of the Angolan Futsal Federation, to join the list of 20 referees who will judge the games of the two competitions.

Among the three, Telma da Conceição, the only referee from Huambo and the fourth of the 20 judges, will referee her first senior championship, after having ascended to the national category last August, after having already made her debut in the national subs. 17 and 19, covered in Benguela.

This is the second time that the province of Huambo has won three places to send referees to the sport’s senior nationals. The first was in 2019, when the province hosted both competitions.
