Government Suspends Import Licensing for Wheat Flour, Corn Flour and Refined Oils

Africa-Press – Angola. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has suspended import licensing for wheat flour, corn flour, refined sunflower, palm and soybean oils, school and professional gowns, uniforms, including military and police uniforms. According to a service order from the Ministry of Industry dated April 30, sent, the products suspended for import also include confectionery products, plasterboard panels and hospital consumables.

The document explains that the measure aims to encourage national production, promote and significantly increase the domestic supply of consumer goods, as well as gradually reduce imports and diversify exports.

“The personnel assigned to the licensing service of the National Directorate of Commerce must strictly comply with the provisions of the previous numbers, under penalty of the application of the disciplinary and criminal sanctions that are deemed appropriate”, the document reads.
