Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Benguela province, Manuel Nunes Júnior, praised the visit of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, waiting from the holder of the Executive branch ‘all the support’ for the development of this region of the country.

Manuel Nunes Júnior spoke in an interview with journalists about the visit of the President of the Republic to Benguela province, in which he claimed to be an opportune time to ‘be able to obtain once again all the support we have been given in this hard work we do for the development of the province’.

However, the governor of Benguela acknowledges that the head of state finds a province with challenges and faces difficulties but is in progress.

‘The important thing is that we will not find out the difficulties, challenges and constraints ahead,’ he admitted, visibly optimistic about how João Lourenço’s coming can boost the execution of the ongoing programs in the region.

For the governor of Benguela, in the present conjuncture one should always have a spirit of optimism and work every day hard to improve the quality of life of the population.

The ruler explained that at this moment the province has a set of projects, noting that some are ongoing and visible, while others will start in the coming times in several domains.

‘Any ruler when acting, the only thing he wants is the well-being of the people under his jurisdiction (…). This is what we do every day, so that the life of the population improves, ‘he said.

In Benguela, the President of the Republic inaugurates, on Saturday morning, the 5th edition of the Fair of Municipalities and Cities of Angola, an event that brings together municipal administrators from all over the country, governors of the 21 provinces and institutional partners, aiming to boost local development and promote the exchange of experiences.

Under the motto “Life is made in the municipalities”, the Fair of Municipalities and Cities of Angola takes place from August 9-11, at the Ombaka National Stadium, under the organization of the Ministry of Administration of the Territory, under the 50th anniversary of the 50th anniversary of Independence.

Then, João Lourenço guides the first extraordinary meeting of the local governance council, a forum that brings together the provincial governors, with the aim of evaluating the progress of the main projects ongoing in the various regions of the country.
