Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Huila, Nuno Mahapi, highlighted the success of the 14th pilgrimage to Mamã Muxima do Toco this Sunday, as a symbol of the organization’s commitment, the spirit of faith, and unity.
In statements to the press at the end of the religious service, the governor congratulated everyone involved in its implementation, emphasizing that despite the cholera outbreak facing the country, the pilgrimage took place safely and with great spiritual upliftment.
“First of all, I want to congratulate the organization and everyone who participated. We pray that the pilgrims arrive safely home. Even with the current difficulties, it was possible to celebrate with faith and renew our spirits, which is the most important thing,” the governor stated.He also noted that the pilgrimage to Mama Muxima do Toco constitutes a spiritual and cultural milestone for the province and the country, strengthening ties between the State and the Church.
According to the governor, the church represents the moral reserve of society, and the government will continue to maintain good spiritual, cultural, and social relations and pray that Angola continues to transform into an increasingly better country for all.
Nuno Mahapi also considered that the event leaves “an indelible mark” on the history of Huíla, representing an opportunity for Christians to renew their faith and strengthen their spiritual values.
The 14th pilgrimage to Mama Muxima do Toco brought together thousands of faithful from various parts of the country, in an atmosphere of devotion, prayer, and hope for national peace and prosperity.
