Africa-Press – Angola. The President of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, expressed her deep condolences this Sunday over the death of suspended member of parliament, Emiliana Nhengo, in South Africa, after a prolonged illness.

In a message of condolence sent, the leader of Parliament considered the member’s departure an irreparable loss for the National Assembly and the country.

She emphasized that Emiliana Nhengo was a woman of courage, dedication, and humility, who stood out for her dedication to the cause of women and her steadfast defense of equality, justice, and human dignity.

Carolina Cerqueira also emphasized that, despite facing a long illness, the member never stopped actively participating in parliamentary sessions, demonstrating a strong sense of duty and commitment to the Angolan people.

A native of Cabinda province, Emiliana Nhengo was recognized for her patriotic spirit and loyalty to national causes, exemplarily representing her homeland and the Angolan people.

On behalf of the deputies, staff and parliamentary agents, as well as on her own behalf, Carolina Cerqueira addressed her deepest condolences to the bereaved family, colleagues and friends, paying tribute to the memory of a great woman and Angolan patriot.
