Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial governor of Lunda-Sul, Gildo Matias, recommended this Tuesday, in the city of Saurimo, that the Health Department prioritize discipline, good management and empathy, to improve medical and pharmaceutical assistance for the population.
The governor was speaking at the inauguration of the director of the provincial health office, Domingos Txiculo, whom he appointed on Monday, and requested a new dynamic and speed in health services.
For Gildo Matias, the new provincial health office head should bring innovative ideas and help the government promote a better working environment for technicians and projects aimed at materializing medical and pharmaceutical assistance in quantity and quality.
On the occasion, Domingos Txiculo said that he will work to improve the situation in pediatrics and to raise awareness among the population about HIV/AIDS prevention.
Domingos Txiculo replaces Viegas de Almeida, who held the position for six years.
The director of the Governor’s office, Ihanouk Teixeira, also took office.
The province of Lunda-Sul has 103 health units, including hospitals, centers and health posts. It has 80 doctors, of which four are expatriates, 874 nurses and 138 diagnostic technicians.
