Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of Cunene, Gerdina Didalelwa, Tuesday, in Ondjiva, asked public managers to show greater commitment and a spirit of mission in resolving the population’s problems.

Gerdina Didalelwa made the appeal during the swearing-in ceremony of the 42 recently appointed cadres, including deputy municipal administrators, communal administrators and their assistants.

“Administrators should pay greater attention to programs aimed at meeting the needs of populations who live mainly in the interior of the province”, he stressed.

Gerdina Didalelwa also said that the objective is to create a healthy environment for the inhabitants, providing basic social services of sustainability, embodied in the improvement of basic sanitation, more health, education, energy and water, as well as other indispensable goods.

He said that given the fact that the province registers the phenomena of drought and drought, in a cyclical way, it is necessary that the administrators start working with the peasant families in order to take advantage, with improved techniques, of agriculture close to the areas where there are large and small rivers, to monetize the cultivation.

Cunene province controls 20 communes and six municipalities, with approximately one million inhabitants.

Witnessing the event were vice-governors, municipal administrators, local directors, government officials, among other guests.
