Governor wants unity around the transmission of Agostinho Neto’s legacy

Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial governor of Uíge, José Carvalho da Rocha, (Sunday) appealed to the population of this region of the country to be united around the teachings of President Agostinho Neto’s ideals and achievements.

This knowledge transmitted to the population will boost the development of the province in various areas, explained the ruler in the provincial act alluding to National Hero Day.

He added that the teachings about Agostinho Neto’s legacy should inspire all Angolans to work harder to produce food, in order to combat hunger within families.

To better understand the figure and size of President Neto, the governor asked local inhabitants to read his works.

During his speech, José Carvalho da Rocha also spoke about the cultural and humanist dimensions of António Agostinho Neto, whose legacy should inspire everyone, regardless of party affiliation and religious belief.

In turn, the municipal administrator of Uíge, Maria Cavungo, highlighted the projects implemented in recent years, in the areas of Education, Health, road rehabilitation, water supply systems, actions that helped to improve the lives of the local population.

Preceded by the laying of a wreath on the bust of António Agostinho Neto, in the city of Uíge, the event was attended by members of the provincial government, traditional authorities, defense and security bodies, as well as political and religious entities.
