Africa-Press – Angola. President João Lourenço arrived Tuesday in the province of Cuando, one of the three newly created provinces, following the recent Political-Administrative Division in Angola.
Upon his arrival, the Angolan Head of State received a welcome from the provincial governor of Cuando, Lúcio Amaral, and hundreds of people.
After the province of Moxico Leste, this will be the second new province to receive the visit of the Head of State, who departed in the early hours for the town of Mavinga, Cuando’s headquarters.
A delegation composed of several ministers and central administration officials follows the President in an activity that aims to provide a comprehensive overview of what remains to be done to establish the new territorial unit.
The program essentially includes direct contact with the area where the future city of Mavinga (capital of Cuando) will be built, with the entire infrastructure required for a provincial headquarters, from the government palace to the array of facilities that enable the regular functioning of a city.
President João Lourenço will also consult with local figures and chair a meeting with the local government.
