Africa-Press – Angola. Questions about the political, economic and social development of Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe were under analysis at the audience that the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, granted, this Thursday, in Luanda, to the former Prime Minister of that country, Jorge Bom Jesus.
Speaking to the press at the end of the meeting, Jorge Bom Jesus, currently a member of the Sao Tome National Assembly, said that the two countries maintain excellent cooperation relations and, for this reason, have held regular consultations to exchange ideas.
“The two countries have several affinities and a history forged from the time of the struggle for liberation to their respective independence, so we are looking for new paths for our development process”, he stressed.
Jorge Bom Jesus, a 61-year-old politician, was Prime Minister of São Tomé and Príncipe from 2018 to 2022.
Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe formalized cooperation in February 1978, through the General Agreement of Friendship and Cooperation, and the Joint Bilateral Commission created in January 1980.
