Head of State'S Visit to India will give New Impetus to Relations between the Two Countries

Africa-Press – Angola. The state visit to India by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, which begins this Thursday, will mark a turning point in the history of bilateral relations with Angola, according to Ambassador Clemente Camenha. The ambassador believes that João Lourenço’s presence in New Delhi tomorrow represents a “new impetus” in cooperation between Angola and India, especially considering the fact that the country has not made a visit by a high-level delegation for almost four decades.

“It is with great pride that we will have our President of the Republic here from 2 to 4 May”, confessed Ambassador Clemente Camenha, highlighting that relations between the countries were established in 1986.“There has not been a visit at this level for 38 years. And we are very honored to be able to bring our President of the Republic of India. Especially because, within the scope of this need and interest in strengthening relations between other countries, a meeting at the highest level is always a reason to help raise and awaken some sectors that, in a certain way, also have great importance and some responsibility in strengthening these relations”, he stressed.
