The Chairman of the Executive Committee of Banco Sol, Osvaldo Macaia, announced on Tuesday in the city of Huambo that his banking institution is open to financing companies that have been developing new projects in different sectors.Osvaldo Macaia, who was speaking after the courtesy meeting he held with Governor Pereira Alfredo, highlighted Banco Sol’s strategy of ensuring that bankable and sustainable projects can be effectively identified, with a view to making the institution profitable.
The official said that the meeting with the governor was precisely, as a strategic partner, to understand the real needs of the priority sectors for financing.
He revealed that his visit to the city of Huambo also aims to closely observe the situation and relationship with customers and to convey Banco Sol’s new strategies to employees.
Banco Sol currently has 166 contact points nationwide, including bank branches, business centers and automatic payment points.
In turn, the Deputy Governor for the Political, Economic and Social sector, Angelino Elavoco, listed the actions carried out to revitalize economic activity at the provincial level, mainly those business initiatives aimed at the agriculture and industry sectors.
Angelino Elavoco made it known that, as far as banking coverage is concerned, only eight municipalities have branches, with three missing, namely Chinjenje, Longonjo and Chicala Cholohanga.
“We hope that in a short space of time, in partnership with banks, we will be able to set up bank branches or agents in the aforementioned locations, in order to reduce the number of trips users have to make in search of money,” he highlighted.
