Africa-Press – Angola. Twenty-one cases of crimes against public managers were forwarded in 2022, by the General Inspectorate of State Administration (IGAE) in Lunda Sul province, to the Attorney General’s Office (PGR).
The information was provided this Tuesday, in the city of Saurimo, Lunda Sul province, by the provincial delegate of the IGAE, Filomeno Vunge, claiming that these were cases of corruption, embezzlement, poor provision of public service, among others.
Speaking to the press, on the occasion of the institution’s 31st anniversary, which is being celebrated yesterday, the official said that the cases handed over to the PGR involving public managers and administrative officials have evidence of a criminal nature, and are being dealt with so that those involved can answer for the committed acts.
He explained that the institution has been working on raising the awareness of civil servants, in order to put an end to possible bad practices in the institutions, guided by dignified and responsible behavior.
On the other hand, Filomeno Vunge said that during the period in question, the IGAE in Lunda Sul received 160 complaints of various natures related to poor service by public officials.
The IGAE is an auxiliary body of the Executive, with the aim of carrying out administrative internal control of the public administration, through inspection, supervision, auditing, supervision, control, investigation and investigations of all bodies, agencies and services of direct and indirect administration. of the State, as well as the autonomous administrations.
It also has the mission of preventing and detecting fraud, acts of corruption and impropriety, irregularities, misconduct on the part of public officials or administrative agents who compose them, as well as the defense of public assets and strengthening of integrity and transparency in the management of public goods.
