Africa-Press – Angola. The National Institute of Support for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (INAPEM) expects to reach, by December this year, 500 companies adhering to the Service Made in Angola, announced the chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of the institution, João Nkosi .
Speaking at the usual briefing of the Ministry of Economy and Planning, he underlined that in terms of products, the perspective is to reach the thousand products to be registered by the 500 companies.
According to João Nkosi, current data point to more than 556 products with the Seal Made in Angola and 142 companies already adhering to it.
He also advanced that there are more than 220 companies in the process under analysis for lack of required documents and others for recently submitting the documents.
João Nkosi assured that in the next few days INAPEM will complete these pending processes, which could add up to more than 300 companies adhering to it.
As for the time in the act of adherence, the PCA underlined that under normal conditions, if the company complies with the legitimacy criteria, in less than a week the process can be consolidated.
The PCA reinforced that commercial institutions have five months to adhere to the Made in Angola seal, due to measures to stimulate the national economy – including the purchase of national production.
The manager also recalled that from January 2024, Public Institutions will be obliged to buy Goods and Services Made in Angola”.
The Service Made in Angola (SFA) is an initiative that arises with the aim of encouraging national production and consumption and also aims to respond to the challenges that arise with the approval of measures to mitigate the economic and financial crisis.
He said that they also intend to hold several workshops to inform the general secretariats of the ministries and other central and local public institutions about the public procurement procedure for goods and services “Made in Angola.
Hold seminars at provincial level for the private sector to be informed about the procedures, comprehensive communication campaign, about the procedures, benefits and impact, and make the SFA website more disruptive in the sense of being the main source of consultation for public institutions in the purchase of domestic production.
He added that they also intend to insert a denouncement order on the SFA website to allow members to present their concerns whenever they feel wronged.
“This information should be channeled to the National Directorate for the Business Environment for its mitigation, and should engage ambassadors and shopping centers as partners in the dissemination and enhancement of products with the Made in Angola seal”, he said.
João Nkosi said that the Institute intends to work with operators that develop art and culture, within the scope of the creative economy, to improve the adhesion mechanism to the Made in Angola Seal, as well as to work with other partners in fulfilling the benefits foreseen by joining to the SFA.
According to the same, the perspective involves concerting actions with the Ministry of Finance within the framework of improving the process inherent to the public purchase of goods and services and working on the preparation of the 2nd edition of Expo Feito em Angola.
The PCA referred that, in terms of access to the external market, around 40 companies participated in the 1st DRC-Angola Economic Forum, where, in the majority, companies adhere to the SFA or are in the process of joining.
More than 1,050 attended the event, including exhibitors, visitors and participants, including 40 Angolan companies.
At this time, there are around 440 applications for obtaining the Service Done in Angola.
