Africa-Press – Angola. The National Institute for Religious Affairs (INAR) announced, this Thursday, the holding, in November this year, of the III Forum on Religious Phenomena, to analyze the political and social causes of the intra and inter-religious situation in Angola .
The information was provided by the director of INAR, Adilson de Almeida, at the end of the meeting with the Secretary General of the Organization of Angolan Women (OMA), Joana Tomás, having explained that the intention is to bring together institutions with a view to finding better ways to stabilize and control of the religious phenomenon in Angola.
Based on data provided by INAR, more than three thousand churches hold services without the approval of the regulatory institution.
According to the official, the intention is to put an end to the situation that he considered to be alarming.
INAR controls 1,106 churches, 33 of which are accredited.
He also explained that INAR, with the support of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, is working with processes of religious ministers, in order to register and accredit them for greater control over the level of training.
“This year, work is underway to register and map the churches across the country, using geospatial techniques, in order to allow the location of each one of the churches”, he said.
The meeting between OMA and INAR aimed to address the issue of incest, kidnappings and request the real list of recognized and unrecognized churches in the country.
