Africa-Press – Angola. Inflation in Angola fell 1.38% in March compared to February 2025 and registered a year-on-year change of 23.85%, with a decrease of 1.41 percentage points compared to March 2024, the Angolan INE announced.
When comparing prices from March this year with prices from March 2024, the National Consumer Price Index (IPCN) reveals that the year-on-year variation stands at 23.85%, registering a decrease of 1.41 percentage points, according to a note from INE.
The index recorded a variation of 1.38% from February to March 2025, according to the Statistics Institute. The fall in inflation in March confirms the trend of price reductions that has been recorded in Angola over the last eleven months, that is, since May 2024, according to data from the INE.
The “transport” class was the one that registered the biggest price increase, with a variation of 1.83%.
Also noteworthy are the price increases seen in the categories “alcoholic beverages and tobacco” with 1.77%, “hotels, cafes and restaurants” with 1.75% and “clothing and footwear” with 1.62%. The provinces that recorded the smallest price variation were Lunda Sul with 1.34%, Malanje with 1.23% and Luanda with 1.18%. Bié (2.09%), Moxico (1.88%) and Cabinda (1.88%) were the provinces that recorded the greatest price variation in that period.
