Africa-Press – Angola. Thirty managers of agricultural cooperatives and technicians from the Institute of Agrarian Development (IDA) in the province of Cuanza Sul have been participating since Monday, in the city of Sumbe, in a seminar on financial management, an INAPEM initiative.

Over five days, participants will acquire knowledge about stock and human resources management, auditing and finance, the basics of agricultural cooperatives and their challenges.

When speaking at the opening ceremony, the head of the provincial department of the National Institute for Support to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (INAPEM), Jorge Manuel, said that the training action aims to strengthen the capacity of local institutions and improve the quality of services provided .

“The training consists of updating the INAPEM and IDA network at regional level. We think we are on the right track, which is why we will continue to train institutions,” he highlighted.

For his part, the president of UNACA in Cuanza Sul, David Nunes, highlighted the importance of training in improving the management of cooperatives in the region.

“The evaluation is positive, because this training will contribute to the success of the activity of agricultural cooperatives, with a valuable impact on the financing process”, he added.

INAPEM in Cuanza Sul controls 658 certified companies, of which 39 are agricultural cooperatives.
