Africa-Press – Angola. The Italian embassy promoted this Thursday, in Luanda, a meeting to reflect on design and culture, as catalysts for new models of institutions, with the aim of increasingly strengthening socio-cultural relations between Angola and Italy.

The meeting, which took place within the scope of the Italian Design Day, brought together professionals in curatorship and architecture, teachers and students from different academies in Luanda.

It had as a backdrop the presentation of Italy’s candidacy for Expo ROMA 2030.

The Italian ambassador to Angola, Cristiano Gallo, referred that it was an opportunity to promote Italian culture.

As for Italy’s candidacy for the Expo, Cristiano Gallo reaffirmed that it is part of the government’s policy, and some topics related to this event are being addressed during the activities related to the Italian Design Day.

Cristiano Gallo also made reference to the existence of some items of Italian culture in Angola such as gastronomy and clothing, and it is important to galvanize relationship ties to strengthen cultures.

In turn, the Italian critic and curator, Beatrice Leanza, shared her experience during her journey, which began in China passing through Portugal, and detailed the influences suffered in shaping the institutions.

For Beatrice Leanza, institutions continue to be unique and essential spaces and places for social debate, being the civic center and the production of knowledge, constituting the critical engine through which the world can be collectively shaped.

Paula Nascimento took advantage of the meeting to share her knowledge, as well as present two independent projects of a sociocultural nature to other professionals and students present.

The meeting also reserved space for a conversation between the lecturers and other professionals in the field.
